Nizoral Shampoo and Stieprox Shampoo

If you are suffering from itchy, oily and hair replete with dandruff and are looking for a shampoo which could combat such conditions, from my experience, I would like to recommend you the following two shampoos I have used before:
a) Nizoral Shampoo (containing Ketoconazole, which is reported to slow down some balding problems too)

I checked with a Medical Representative of Zuellig Pharma Pte Ltd Singapore.

As told by rep, NIzoral is to cure fugus attack. Hair loss due to fugus attack can only be resolved by using Nizoral.

This product doesn't solve the problem of oily scalp.

Stieprox Shampoo is also carried by Zuellig Pharma Pte Ltd Singapore. I have to checked to with another rep who in-charge of this product.

I hope that above finds you well.

Hi Wine,

That was what the pharmacist told me too when I went to buy.

He told me Nizoral more to treat fungus infection and to cure oily scalp, he recommended Stieprox which he said can be used to treat a greater number of conditions like oil scalp.

And I bought Stieprox then.

thank you very much for your comment. I haven't heard from Zuellig Pharma Pte Ltd Singapore about Stieprox.

will update you once i heard from them.

i choose to believe the feedback from distributor. As they will have more accurate information than pharmacist. As I find that most of pharmacists are usually fresh from school, they just based on information on packaging.

stieprox has the same function as nizoral.

The difference is the hair is more dry after using nizoral as compare to stieprox.

I reckon if hairloss is not due to fugus attack or dranduff, then better don't use these 2 products.

Thanks for the advise. But I won't dare to try Stieprox until it is prescribed by a doctor since it is a medical shampoo.

Thinking of getting Grorich

Hi Winem you can easily buy Stieprox over the counter at NTUC pharmacy, prescribed by a pharmacist.

Ok I'm a pharmacist here.

Nizoral (ketoconazole, you can buy generic versions) is FDA approved to resolve dandruff and other associated fungal infections of the scalp. So when you talk to a pharmacist or doctor, that is what they are going to tell you.

But research also has shown that it helps with hair loss and hair regrowth, although it isn't a large scale research. No one is going to pay for a large scale research as ketoconazole is readily available and they can't make more money out of it.

I guarantee you that Nizoral helps with oily scalp. Too effective in fact. You shouldn't wash your hair with Nizoral everyday as it will irritate your scalp by stripping off all the hair oils. 2-3 times a week is sufficient.

Don't buy Stieprox for hair loss has there have been no research showing that it works for it. It should work for fungal and dandruff though.
